Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi, a Romanian gymnastics teacher who later became Comaneci's coach, first discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. Her first competition was at the junior national championships in 1969 placing 13th and she took the title in 1970. Her first ever international contest in 1972, she took the top spot by winning three gold awards. The athlete won four golds and one silver medals in her first international competition for seniors that took place in 1975. This was the first time she had competed as an older senior. The first female to ever successfully complete a backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol's first job was in entertainment during her teenage year. In her early years she was a figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. These shows were ice skating events which included stage performances.
