I was a gruelling 12 hour days sanding floors and tearing down wallpaper with one child strapped on my back and the others playing inside the playpen. Ha! The house was getting closer to completing, however it was still a long distance to go. The project would require time, money as well as my personal favorite for furniture to decorate this home. My three sons and me looked for treasures hidden at estate sales to keep my spending under control. Every week, we spent between Thursday and Saturday in estate sales and garage sales buying brand new furniture. After that, I repainted and smoothed the driveway during the workweek. My love for furniture repair began with a look similar to this. After our home was fully furnished, I still couldn't stop! The local market had space for me to market my items. Eventually, my collection grew to the point that the space I had was no longer adequate. Over 1000 people visited my home over the course of a weekend to buy everything that was on the ground. Growing Days is the result from this. As my business flourished, so did our little family. Finding the balance was important for me. I wanted to balance being a mother and also a successful business owner. Growing Days seemed like the perfect match. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora became our fourth child. My business's direction was fantastic, but I needed to get some down time. I opted to take a little time off from my vintage furniture and slow down to remain at home with the kids. It was the right time. After a couple of months, my phone started to begin to. A lot of people contacted me seeking advice on home improvement and decorating. They were mostly people who came to my open residence to buy furniture. I started taking on some customers one by one taking my time but it wasn't too for long to have multiple accounts and was running an entire home improvement business. It would have probably laughed at me had you had said that this was going to be the subject of an DIY Network tv series. When I look back, it still makes me laugh.
